Located in the western part of Finnish Lapland, the Snow Village is within easy reach of both Ylläs and Levi. It is built entirely of snow and ice covering approximately an area of 20,000 square metres. As the village is constructed afresh every year, the design and the interior decoration is always changing, offering a unique look and experience. The Snow Village offers you the choice of two uniquely different chapels for your wedding ceremony.
Marry inside the Ice Chapel or the Wooden Chapel
The Ice Chapel can be used for an intimate wedding or if you have a wedding party it is big enough for about 60 guests. It is decorated with reindeer skin, candles and a flower arrangement on the altar. This stunning chapel will ensure your Arctic wedding dreams come true.
If you’d rather have a warmer choice of venue for your ceremony, then choose the beautiful and cosy wooden chapel of St. John. This small wooden log chapel has seats for up to 20 guests and with a real lit fire in the fireplace and flickering candles you can make your vows together in this unique little chapel.
Sprinkle Extra Magic on Your Wedding Day
We've got some great ideas to help you add some extra magic to your wedding package. Turn an already special day into an even more magical experience with a Lappish meal, disco, exciting fireworks display, the romantic first night in an Ice Suite, Tepee cabin or a night in a glass igloo.
Arrive in Style
You can't beat making a stylish arrival at your own wedding and at the Snow Village, you can arrive in traditional Lappish style. Enjoy a romantic husky or reindeer sledge arrival, it's the perfect way to arrive at the Snow Village. If a more exhilarating arrival is your style, add a bit of speed to the proceedings and arrive on a snowmobile.
Ice or Log Restaurant
After the ceremony as a newly married couple retire to either the Ice Restaurant or the nearby Log Restaurant for a celebratory Lappish Meal. It's a great way to add some extra authenticity to your wilderness wedding. A 3-course dinner in the Ice Restaurant is available.
The Coolest of Discos
Your guests will love celebrating your wedding inside the Ice Bar with a disco. The whole bar and the tables are made out of ice! The maximum duration of the event is 4 hours, warm coveralls and boots can also be rented in advance.
Light up the sky with Fireworks
Fireworks are a spectacular way to highlight your wedding and surprise your guests in an unexpected way. Our professional shows are set up and made by trained and authorised professionals.
Wedding Night
Make that first night as man and wife a memorable one! We've got a great choice of options including an overnight stay in an Ice Suite or standard Ice Room at the Snow Village. If you fancy something a bit warmer then check out a Teepee Cabin complete with jacuzzi and hot tub or if you want to make the sky move on your wedding night choose a glass igloo high up in the Levi Fell. Our igloos complete with the motorised rotating bed are fully roofed over with glass so the sky at night is always just above you. Prices vary by date and style of accommodation
